Introducing Baby Sawyer

So this is our little one. And as it turns out the babe is a little smaller than we expected! At 9 weeks and 4 days our new due date is June 27th!
The baby actually looks like a little baby. It was so exciting to see the baby and our radiology tech even let us hear the little heart beat - going strong at 167 bmp.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Mommy- and Daddy-to-Be: Nat & Will Sawyer

pregnancy week by week

We are having a baby! Wonderfully, caught by total surprise, stunningly having a baby! I found out Tuesday, Oct 21st. I had gone to the pharmacy to pick up a fertility prescription and grabbed a pregnancy test 'just in case.' Not because I even imagined it to be a possibility. I promptly went home, went to the bathroom, left to go check my email (because I was wholly anticipating 1 pink line) and 3 minutes later was staring at 2 VERY pink lines. I don't remember much else except to say I felt like a was floating and wanted to call everyone...which of course I didn't because I couldn't even tell Will yet! I had to be in Cinci for a yoga thing (imagine that...) and wouldn't be home until midnight and then Wens morning get on a plane for Austin. Soooo...yep. "Hi babe! We're pregnant. And now I'm going to bed." That's not much fun. Will waited a week to find out! Excruciating to keep the secret especially when I came down with an awful cold! And poor Daddy! After being with my best friend, Lindsey (I got to tell her in person!!), and many members of my extended yoga family, Will was a bit down the list on the "In the Know" list.

So how did I tell him...I have to admit the idea wasn't original but it's a good one!
Tuesday morning I told Will not to worry about dinner. I was going to make him a special treat after I got done teaching. I got home around 7 and Will was starving. But no worries, my meal would only take about 10 minutes to prepare. I grilled us up some hotdogs, put them in hotdog buns and on Will's plate he got two: 1 with a blue bowed tied around it and 1 with pink. For his side item he got a pair of tiny UT Longhorns socks. And I presented it to him in the living room (can you believe how romantic this is?!) I wish I had a camera to capture the initial look of disappointment on his face that his special treat was hotdogs. I believe he said, "Oh, hotdogs. That's cute." Several seconds passed before he started to connect the dots and then the words were, "Na-huh! Are you serious," followed by a big smile and a gigantic hug.

So there you have it folks! We're having a baby! The first doctor appointment is Thursday, Nov. 6. We've predicted June 21st for the little one to make his (or her) debut.

peaceout:-)
